About us
CEG is a small business, founded in 2008 by Dr. Christine Paulsen, and offers an expert team of research associates and assistants.
We are based in the greater Boston area, but we perform research all over the globe.
Our clients are mostly educational or health organizations -- from both the public and private sectors.
CEG is unique because we take a multi-disciplinary approach to all of our projects. We routinely draw upon our expertise in program evaluation, research methodology, usability and human factors, education, social psychology, health services research, communications, and social marketing.
From Christine
Welcome to CEG. I started this consulting practice because I wanted to have an impact on society through research and evaluation. I believe that solid research can help us, as a society, determine what works and what doesn't -- whether we're talking about education or health or any other field. Using research-based evidence to guide our policy and corporate decisions is more efficient and effective than operating in the absence of data.
I have been conducting research and evaluation studies since 1990. I began my career evaluating the effectiveness of federally-funded programs designed to promote healthy behaviors in communities, companies, and schools. We didn't have the Internet back then, so most programs delivered their content via in-person trainings, handbooks, traditional curricula, and electronic media such as video. As technology has evolved, so have the programs I have studied. In the mid to late 90's, as distance learning technologies emerged, I began to evaluate the development of training and educational resources delivered via the Internet. I also began to integrate usability testing and human factors research with program evaluation and basic research to provide my clients with a more comprehensive picture of how their technologies and initiatives were performing.
